“The Writer is a Senior Official in the Trump Administration.”

Yesterday, The New York Times dropped a controversial anonymous op-ed piece which stated, in just under a thousand words, that there were persons within the Trump administration who were actively sabotaging or otherwise resisting the actions of the President.  The writer claimed to be a senior-ranking official of the administration, and his piece describes how the President doesn’t seem to be fully aware of the efforts to curb his intentions.  It also explains, humorlessly, the erraticism of Trump’s behavior so popularized by the mainstream media.  And the writer, eager to stand on credentials that he’s unwilling to actually bring to light, simultaneously presents this covert splinter cell of political resistance to be well-intentioned patriots who are, presumably, republican loyalists (both small ‘r’ and of the GOP, in this case) rather than agents of the opposition.  It is for the country’s own good, apparently, that the efforts of its President are sabotaged. How to Hijack Conservatism 101

At one time, the term “neocon” referred to a specific group of presumably-reformed Trotskyites who had migrated away from the anti-Stalinist left.  They had found dissatisfaction with the way the conflict in Vietnam was being handled in the 1960s, and using the Cold War as an impetus, sought to limit the expansion of the Soviet regime through extremely active foreign involvement.  This involvement could have taken the form of minor espionage operations, but don’t be fooled: the neocons of the time were no strangers to advocating for the intervention of foreign affairs with the full might of the United States military. Women’s March 2018: The Sequel is DOA

Remember the Women’s March?  It was that thing that happened last year where about a half a million women descended on Washington, DC, shrilly reiterating the same talking points they’ve been blandly screeching about for the last thirty years.  Remember how they had Linda Sasour, hijab-wearing defender of Sharia law, help orchestrate this march for so-called women’s liberation in the United States, where women are allowed to hold jobs, drive, and—for some godforsaken reason—even vote, and all without having to cover their faces?  Remember the incredible media buzz it created, with talking heads and major outlets tweeting about it nonstop, completely eclipsing the anti-abortion March for Life that happened practically the next day, which drew comparable numbers of attendees?  And oh, do you remember how this Women’s March was supposed to spark a year of anti-Trump protests organized with the zeal and vigor of a new peaceful revolutionary movement?  It was supposed to be the call to action that united the people to stand against hate: a spark that lights the fire that burns the fuel that ignites the metaphor of the First Order, or something like that.  Continue reading “Women’s March 2018: The Sequel is DOA”

Borders Imply Walls

Trump recently rolled out his new immigration plan, and it is, to put it mildly, absolutely great.  It does away with the bizarre, randomized lottery system for immigrants, extended family visas, and the priorities placed on the importation of unskilled workers.  Instead, it values—as America does—those with English language proficiency, previous experience in good jobs, entrepreneurial ambitions, and skills that extend beyond picking fruit or wielding a weed-whacker.  That seems completely reasonable, so naturally, the Left has reacted in their predictable fashion: call the President of the United States a white supremacist.

A Joke: CNN Walks Into a Meme War

If there has been any single event that should make you entirely unapologetic about casting the ballot for Donald Trump back in November, it would have to be CNN’s behavior from the past week.  Just when you think, wait a minute, there is NO WAY these people could be more hypocritical, they begin a national media firestorm about encouraging a culture of violence against the press over a shitpost that Trump retweeted.  And then, just when you think—again!—wait a minute, there’s no WAY that these people could get MORE hypocritical, they blackmail an apology out of some alleged fifteen-year-old who didn’t even make the shitpost that was retweeted in the first place.  And then they double down.
